  • So far the program has seen 52 young people, of these 2 were under 16 years, 11 were between 16 and 19 years, 36 were between 20 and 25 years and 3 were 26 years of age.
  • The data indicates that young people from across the greater Grampians region have accessed the service and that the gender split is approximately 50% female and 50% male.
  • Eighteen young people who accessed the service identified as having a disability, 5 young people are from ATSI background.
  • Young people assisted by the HJP Youth Lawyer presented with a wide range of legal issues including Family Violence, Will, Family Law, Motor Vehicle related issues, debts and tenancy related issues to name a few.
  • The majority of participants indicated that the legal problem they had was ‘very important’ with ten participants identifying that the legal problem was affecting their life ‘a lot’.
  • Young people indicated that the legal problem has been an issue for between one to six months and that it was having a range of impacts on their health and wellbeing.
